Karen Tay
CEO and Head of Talent & Organizational Consulting
Karen Tay has run executive and leadership operations as well as coaching programs within high growth technology companies, Non-Profits and Governments seeking major transformation. She has served as an external coach to senior executives with a high growth mindset in the United States and Singapore.
Prior to establishing Threshold Allies LLC, Karen held senior leadership positions across the start-up and government worlds where she was entrusted to solve high-stakes problems and create innovative pathways in ambiguous situations.
As Head of Strategy and Operations and Chief of Staff to the CEO at Iterative Health (Series A to B), she ran leadership and executive operations and established the operational and communications infrastructure to take the company through its post Series A/B raise, scaling the customer network and growing the team from 50 to 200 across Boston, San Francisco and Dallas.
As Smart Nation Director at the Singapore Prime Minister's Office and Regional Vice President in the Singapore Global Network, she established global tech talent operations for the Singapore Government in the San Francisco Bay Area, boosting its global talent pipeline by 20X. She designed new career ladders and programs to attract and retain technology talent in the Government and created new visa programs to bring global talent to Singapore.
She started out her career as a Public Service Commission scholar in Singapore, where she ran strategic financing programs and designed equitable social and educational policies (e.g. a landmark $2B equitable preschool reform), served as a political speechwriter to multiple Cabinet Ministers and was a strategy advisor to the Prime Minister.
Karen has been recognized as an Asia 21 Young Leader and Women's Forum Rising Talent. She is adjunct faculty at the Singularity University Executive Program. She is a sought after speaker and facilitator, and her writing on technology, society and culture has been published internationally.
Minli Virdone
Consultant and Coach
Minli Virdone has built and led happy, humble and high-performing teams across multiple companies and industries. Most recently, she was VP of Business Operations at Twilio and SendGrid; she also served as Chief of Staff at Khan Academy and raised $100M+ to fund free education. Throughout her career, she earned a reputation for nurturing talent and igniting career trajectories. As a mom of two boys and a first-generation immigrant, she's no stranger to the challenges of balancing work and life – it's a journey filled with tough decisions and moments of uncertainty. Today, Minli channels her professional energies into coaching and advising executives, and paying forward the support and guidance she’s received throughout her career.
